Small business CRM basics: records, duplicates and consent
Every NurtureSite comes with a CRM, and it speaks your language: households for a landscaper, patients for a dentist, students for a preschool. Here's how records, merging and consent work.

A CRM in your language
Every NurtureSite comes with a CRM, and it speaks your language. Households for a landscaper. Patients for a dentist. Students for a preschool.
The CRM dashboard
In your site admin, the CRM is named after the people you serve. Greenline calls it Households. The dashboard shows your pipeline at a glance: who's new, who you've contacted, and the hot households worth a call today.
Every household in one list
Open the list. Every booking and form on your site lands here. Use the Open, Won and Lost tabs, filter by status, or search by name, email or address.
One record per household
Open a record. This is the Jordan Hale household on Oak Street. The details and the service address sit up top. Under People, Jordan is the primary contact, and you can add a partner or a property manager. Below that are their bookings and payments, like this design consultation and its fifty dollar deposit.
Add one by hand, and merge duplicates
When someone calls instead of booking online, click New Household. Add the name, contact details and service address, then create the household. Sam and Samantha Reed booked from the same address. To merge a duplicate, open the record you want to keep, enter the other record's number, and click Merge into this record.
Consent, per person
Consent is tracked for each person and each channel. On Summit Smile's record for Maya, the grid splits email, text, phone and mail into marketing and transactional messages, and your automations respect it.
Your word, everywhere
The word is yours. Summit Smile sees Patients, Bright Steps sees Students, and Catalyst keeps it simple with Leads. Change it in CRM Settings, under Primary record, along with the roles people can have on a record. Pro tip.
Pro tip and your turn
Every record has exactly one primary contact. Two houses that share a bookkeeper stay two households, with the bookkeeper on both. Your turn. Open your CRM, find your newest record, and add a second person to it. Next up: tasks, deals and alerts.
